Getting down to basics. Spring is here. Good soil preparation is essential. The greenhouse has given seeds a kick start and greenhouse group shows up for their seedlings. But you will want to know the ins and outs of good seed management too.

Visiting the trees in the garden with the pruning sheers. Transition Garden’s friend Shawna introduces us to her apple orchard in the making. And there is good news about the bees. 

Episode 4

Bob gives us the basics of cold frames – the budget-conscious greenhouse., including how to make your own. A first harvest leads to a beautiful spring salad. 

Episode 5

Spring has arrived and summer is knocking on the door. The garden takes on a different character. Lots to do. Lots to learn. Even, believe it or not, lots to eat.

Episode 6

From broccoli to radicchio to used hockey sticks, the garden reveals some of its secrets. 

Episode 7

Pests and pals. It might seem sometimes that you are alone in the garden but you have lots of company, some good and some not so good.

Episode 8

Weeding wisdom. Bob has to leave Transition Garden for a while so he briefs Jessi before he goes. Unfortunately the weeds are not leaving with him. This show is about the ins and outs of weeding.

You can garden for food, or to create something beautiful, but bottom line….it just plain makes you feel better.

Urbanites join to build their own community gardens, for themselves, their neighbors, and in particular, their new neighbors. These are all transition gardens by another name.
