Made in Montreal is an exploration of iconic Montreal neighbourhoods through the eyes of local makers and manufacturers.

Episodes

Episode 1: Chabanel

Episode 1 takes us to Chabanel - the city's historic garment district. Come meet some of the characters who still make things right here in Montreal - a hat maker, a button maker and a knitwear king.

Episode 2: The Mile End

In this episode we meet three great characters in Montreal's Mile End: Jesse Herbert - a leather worker, Jennifer Glasgow - a fashion designer, and Jacques Gallant - a neighbourhood blacksmith.

Episode 3: Plateau Mont-Royal

Discover what gets made in the Plateau Mont-Royal, one of Montreal’s most iconic neighborhoods. Take a look at its manufacturing history, and future, told through the stories of three colorful and remarkable local makers: Kanuk, Pajar and Mosaika.

Episode 4

What gets made in St-Henri today? As one of Montreal’s oldest neighborhoods, its history is inextricably linked to the city’s industrial past. In this episode we visit a traditional paper mill, a luxury furniture maker and a woodshop that makes canvas stretchers for professional artists.

Episode 5

Made in Montreal goes to Point St-Charles- an old industrial epicenter that exemplifies the evolution of urban manufacturing in Montreal. In this episode we visit a paper can manufacturer, a metal shop that puts youth back to work and a fine artisanal chocolate maker.
